New General Aviation Terminal

Camden Municipal Airport is advancing the conceptual design of a new General Aviation Terminal north of the existing facility. The concept package describes a new single-story terminal of roughly 6,500 gross square feet with new landside and airside improvements, updated parking and circulation, improved access control, a large lobby, conference room, FBO and administrative offices, crew lounge space, showers, kitchenette, secured storage, mechanical and electrical support spaces, and full-building backup power. The current concept estimate identifies a total project cost of $8,633,407 based on the present design level.

Taxiway Strengthening

Taxiway strengthening is a priority because pavement strength directly affects how the airfield serves larger aircraft safely and reliably. Current airfield data shows that Taxiways A, B, C, and D need additional weight-bearing capacity for several larger aircraft categories. Strengthening this pavement will improve airside capability and give KCDH a stronger foundation for serving corporate executives, government VIPs, flight crews, and general aviation pilots.

Other Recent Improvements

Other completed improvements include terminal furniture upgrades, guest-use furnishings, improved flight- operations and training spaces, additional security cameras, aircraft parking and safety equipment, a handheld aviation radio, a diesel UTV with herbicide sprayer, and support improvements that make the field safer and more useful every day.

Long-Term Growth

Long-term airport growth includes terminal expansion, taxiway strengthening, future T-hangars once the terminal expansion is complete, restroom and drainage improvements, additional paving work, and continued investment in support equipment that strengthens service quality and airfield utility.
